I Don’t Match. I Coordinate!
Share
I don’t approach things as matching.
I approach them as coordination.
Even in something as simple as getting dressed, I don’t try to match colors exactly. I coordinate them. I allow them to work together without needing them to be identical.
Because when everything matches, it can feel redundant.
There’s no depth. No movement. No contrast.
Just sameness.
And I’ve realized that this is how I move through life, not just style.
I don’t believe everything is meant to match.
I believe things are meant to align.
To complement.
To contrast.
To bring something different that still works together.
Matching says: be the same.
Coordinating says: be different—but aligned.
And I’ve started to see how this shows up in how I live, how I create, and how I connect with others.
I’m not looking for people to match me.
Not in thought.
Not in timing.
Not in expression.
I’m learning to recognize what coordinates with me.
What aligns without forcing sameness.
What brings something different—but still fits.
Even in how I share, how I market, how I build—I don’t need everything to look the same or follow the same pattern.
I’m not trying to replicate.
I’m allowing things to come together in a way that makes sense for what they are.
That’s coordination.
Scripture reflects this kind of alignment.
In Ecclesiastes 4:9, it says:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.”
Not because they are the same—but because they work together.
There is strength in difference when it is aligned.
I’m learning that life is not about finding what matches me perfectly.
It’s about recognizing what coordinates with where I am.
What complements my growth.
What aligns with my direction.
What fits without forcing sameness.
Because everything doesn’t have to match to make sense.
It just has to be aligned.
