Joy Comes in the Morning
Share
There’s a different kind of joy in the morning.
Not the kind that comes from everything being certain.
Not the kind that comes from knowing exactly what the day will hold.
But the kind that exists even when things are unclear.
Lately, I’ve been sitting with the uncertainty of losing my job.
And while that could feel heavy, I’ve noticed something else happening alongside it.
Space.
Space to think.
Space to move differently.
Space to be present in a way I wasn’t before.
When everything is structured, it’s easy to move on autopilot.
Wake up.
Go to work.
Follow routine.
Repeat.
But when that structure shifts, something else becomes available.
Awareness.
I’ve found myself paying attention in ways I didn’t before.
To my thoughts.
To my time.
To what I feel led to do in a moment—not just what I’m expected to do.
And in that, I’m starting to see possibility.
Not forced.
Not rushed.
But present.
There’s something about being fully present that opens you up to what’s actually available.
Not what you planned.
Not what you assumed.
But what is.
And I’m learning that even in uncertainty, there is direction.
Just not always in the way I expected it.
In Psalms 30:5, it says:
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
That doesn’t mean the situation has already changed.
It means something within you has.
A shift in perspective.
A willingness to trust.
A readiness to move when guided.
And that’s what I’m learning to follow.
Not pressure.
Not fear.
Not urgency.
But prompting.
The quiet nudges.
The ideas that come when I’m still.
The moments where something feels aligned, even if it doesn’t fully make sense yet.
There is joy in that.
Not because everything is figured out.
But because I’m present enough to see what’s unfolding.
I’m not rushing to replace what was lost.
I’m allowing myself to recognize what’s being revealed.
Because sometimes what feels like loss is actually an opening.
An invitation to move differently.
To see differently.
To trust differently.
And maybe the joy of the morning isn’t in having all the answers.
Maybe it’s in knowing that I don’t need them yet.
Just the willingness to be present.
And the faith to follow what’s placed in front of me.
