My Happiness Is Mine to Keep

My Happiness Is Mine to Keep

I’ve been realizing something lately.

I don’t really know what fun feels like right now.

Not in a negative way, just in an honest way.

So much of my life recently has been centered around growth.

Awareness. Healing. Learning. Becoming.

And while all of that has been meaningful, it can also feel very serious.

Structured. Reflective. Intentional in a way that doesn’t always leave space for lightness.

And I caught myself thinking, when was the last time I did something just because it was fun?

Not because it was productive.
Not because it made sense.
Not because it led somewhere.

Just because it felt good in the moment.

And I didn’t immediately have an answer.

So instead of trying to define fun perfectly, I’m choosing to rediscover it.

Gently. Without pressure. Without turning it into another thing I need to master.

Maybe fun right now looks simple.

Listening to music without multitasking.
Taking a walk without a destination.
Trying something new without needing to be good at it.

Maybe fun isn’t something I’ve lost.

Maybe it’s something I’m remembering.

In Ecclesiastes 3:13 it says that it is a gift from God for people to find enjoyment in their work and their lives.

That reminds me that life isn’t only meant to be processed or improved.

It’s also meant to be experienced.

Felt.
Lived.
Enjoyed.

So today, I’m giving myself permission to explore fun again.

Not as a reward. Not as a break from life.

But as part of life.

And if you’ve been feeling the same way, here is a simple invitation.

Find one thing today that feels fun.

No outcome attached. No expectation. No pressure.

Just something that makes you feel a little lighter.

Maybe we don’t need to figure it all out.

Maybe we just need to start.
