My Style Is Becoming More Intentional

My Style Is Becoming More Intentional

My fashion identity is changing.

And honestly?
This shift feels much deeper than clothes.

For most of my life, I loved:

  • expressive styling
  • unexpected pairings
  • creative combinations
  • statement pieces
  • layered looks
  • prints
  • dramatic accessories
  • and outfits that made people pause for a second and think,
    “Wait… that actually works.”

And honestly?
I still appreciate creativity.

But something has been shifting internally.

I find myself becoming more drawn to:

  • strong solid colors
  • classic silhouettes
  • bold simplicity
  • intentional structure
  • timeless pieces
  • and grounded presentation

And honestly?
I think my wardrobe is beginning to reflect my emotional growth.

Because when I look back, I realize some of my previous styling choices carried a lot of movement.

Not bad movement.
Just… a lot.

Prints.
Layers.
Patterns.
Visual stimulation.
Unexpected combinations.

And honestly?
I think part of me used fashion to multitask emotionally.

The outfit said:

  • creative
  • adaptable
  • energetic
  • expressive
  • different
  • interesting

all at the same time.

But now?
I no longer feel the need for my clothing to emotionally explain me before I speak.

That realization surprised me.

Especially because I also noticed something else.

Many people — especially people who feel insecure about certain areas of their body — often wear prints because prints diffuse focus.

The eye moves everywhere at once.

And honestly?
I understand that deeply.

But now I am becoming more comfortable with:
clarity.

Not perfection.
Not hiding.
Not overcompensating.

Just intentional visibility.

That is why bold solid colors feel different to me now.

They communicate:

  • confidence
  • focus
  • groundedness
  • clarity
  • and presence

without requiring emotional overstimulation.

And honestly?
That shift aligns perfectly with where I am in life.

I no longer want to feel:

  • emotionally scattered
  • visually overloaded
  • or performatively expressive just to feel seen

I want my presence to feel:

  • intentional
  • relatable
  • clear
  • timeless
  • and grounded

No matter:

  • where I walk in,
  • who I’m around,
  • or what room I enter.

Red locs and all.

And honestly?
That may be the funniest part.

Because the locs still say:
“Yes, Rosa is absolutely here.”

But now the rest of my presentation says:
“And she’s no longer emotionally auditioning for acceptance.”

That feels powerful.

Because style no longer feels like:
“Look at me.”

It feels more like:
“This is who I am.”

And honestly?
That feels much more sustainable.
